Solar Product Development Engineer
SOL INC., the leader in Solar Lighting seeks ambitious engineers to bring new products to market.
Job Description:
- Responsible for Solar Product Design Projects all the way from concept through development to helping transition to production.
- Estimates product costs, and achieves challenging cost targets.
- Creates drawings of new products or parts, and suggests modifications to simplify or cost-reduce the design.
- Creates ISO 9000 compliant documentation necessary for subsequent manufacture and sale of the product including product specifications, bill of materials, assembly diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Coordinates all facets of product transfer into production
Qualifications:
- BS in Technical Field (MS Preferred, Electrical Engineering or Optical Engineering Preferred)
- Experience in Solar Technology preferred
- Strong Interest in Solar Energy a must
Experience:
- Position requires product design and development experience
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and able to work independently.
- Experience with CAD such as AutoCad and/or Inventor
- Experience with Optical Design Software preferred
- 3 years experience with the development and production of electronic assemblies/products
